I had a ton of problems with mine -- it wouldn't track on some surfaces, and registered a double click instead of a single click almost every time. To be fair, they did offer to replace it, if I shipped it back to them (at my expense), but I didn't want to pay the shipping just to get another potentially defective mouse.

jeff

Comments on MacMice announces Danger Mouse Red

They probably won't actually make a donation. But only this first shipment will come with the free movie and remote, I hear the second shipment wont. The package cost $200 but King Kong is free -$40, the media remote is free -$30 and shipping is free -$10 so you actually be paying $120 for the HD DVD!!! Plus, if you apply for the Amazon Visa you'll get $20 off!!! so you actually be paying $99!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ed

Comments on MacMice announces Danger Mouse Red

Jack Campbell of MacMice is a convicted felon. What's even more suspicious is that the orphanage that this "Other Red" is supposedly donating to (ukundakids.com), just had their domain registered on October 25! This looks very suspicious to me, considering that the layout of the page looks very similar to Campbell's other site www.dvforge.com. Don't buy this product.

Henry Yeh

Comments on MacMice announces Danger Mouse Red

Highly suspicious indeed. Just look at the "Contact" page on macmice.com and ukundakids.com. Almost identical. Of course, there's nothing wrong with the same people running and designing both sites ... but using stock photos and not naming the people behind the project hardly inspires confidence.

putte

Comments on MacMice announces Danger Mouse Red

I agree with Henry Yeh. Engadget should not run this as a serious story. Leaving the words, "Jack Campbell" "felon" "known scammer" and "slimeball" out of the original story is poor reporting on Engadget's part.

Blogston Biddle III

Comments on MacMice announces Danger Mouse Red

Because that's relevant Ed...

Max

Comments on MacMice announces Danger Mouse Red

Goo ideam but I do have to agree with Henry Yeh. It does look a little shady. Check out www.otherred.com as well, all three sites share the same type of layout. I don't think I'll be nuying this anytime soon (I already have 2 mice I use with my MacBook Pro), plus I'll just wait and see what happens with this.

James Whited

Comments on MacMice announces Danger Mouse Red

Ugh. Don't buy one of these. I bought one of their other mice about a year ago. It's a horrible, chintzy, cheap piece of crap.
