I was thinking of turning my first xbox into a media player like Brendan suggested, but the xbox can't output progressive scan for DVD's - just the games. However, after seeing what the XBMC can do for XBox 1, I have to shake my head in wonder at how Microsoft can't provide us with the same direct access to YouTube, Google Video, and Apple Quicktime Trailers that XBMC does. Playing WMVs on a local repository is still behind the times when there are tools available to directly stream the online content.
