I can't wait to play FALL OF MAN RESISTANCE. I am a hard-core gamer and thought every RATCHET and CLANK stood in the elite hall of games ever made. INSOMNIAC games will deliver gameplay that makes it worth owning a PS3.

Gears of War? I bought it and it's a quality game. It does not deserve all the hype it gets. Personally, LOST PLANET the demo plays way better mechanically. And as for online play--not campaign mode--BATTLEFIELD 2 is the best game on the 360 even though it is second-rate to the PC version.

I mention this because I own a 360 and still have pre-ordered a PS3 and WII. But there are far too many TROLLS that must be paid by Microsoft to spend so much time on video game boards attempting to trash the PLAYSTATION.

Want to talk about great games? Currently, the best video games are still on last generation systems.

RESIDENT EVIL 4 for the GAMECUBE--way better graphically and A.I. than the ps2 version.

But then again, let's put this in perspective. Sure, these guys values are questionable at best if they are somehow deciding a video game system is worth more than gainful employment and an (ostensibly) fullfilling relationship (or really when you get down to it, a couple extra months ownership of said system is what their after), but those aren't the worst things people do involving video games. I mean people have been so obssessed with MMORPs that they've starved to death...or neglected their kids and such. And even if they don't die, tons of 'hardcore gamers' sit around and play for hours on end, which is quite unhealthy in the longer run in many ways. These guys are just getting a bit more publicity than most.

But more than being outrageous I think these particular guys are just way to impulsive. I'm all for living your dreams, but a bit more planning makes for a much more successful venture.

If the guy was getting married, he could have just let everyone know he wanted a PS3 for his wedding present. Heck is honey might have even contrived a way to buy it for him. He could then have his 'tang and play video games too. Heck a year after launch he'd be playing the same games but at least he'd have a wife to microwave his Hot Pockets or burritos or whatever so he wouldn't have to hit pause...
And the idiot who quit his job...Dude, make a deal with your boss. 2 weeks of double time, 10 consecutive days off 2 weeks more of double time.
10 consecutive days off probably only means 7 - 8 actual extra days off if you dovetail it in cleverly with your regular days off. Take all that extra cash, fly out to Japan 3 days before launch. Get in line (they didn't start forming here until yesterday...), wait three days, buy your PS3, fly home the same day. Sit on your game obsessed punk ass for the next 5 days and play crappy launch titles to your hearts content. Get back to work and complete your deal, 2 more weeks of double shifts. Not only do you now have a PS3, you got it before anyone else (in his immediate area anyway). You STILL have a job, and the overtime defrays most if not all of the extra ~$1000 in travel costs and lost work hours, and you've got a fantastic 'Hardcore Gamer' story to tell/sell to numerous blogs and the like. Much better sitch than being broke, unemployed, and looking like a fool on the internet.

But then, who am I to talk...I quit my job and passed up a marriage so I could spend a year in Japan. And as far as I'm concerned it was worth every second (of the 14 out of 15 months that have passed) and every cent of the $30K it cost.
