Gamespot did a live gaming marathon with the Wii today if you wanted to watch some games. The only reason I can think for this is that he could give a better view if he was holding the camera as he was shooting.

The packaging doesn't look to frail to me. If you're shipping a bunch of bulk units you don't really need to pack the thing like a tank. Everything is firmly held in place and there's 1-2" of breathing room around all the edges it seems, looks nice to me.
