Its a mess. For $27 it is cheap enough to be useful over snapping cd/dvd's in a plastic bag. Although I like the idea of using a microwave to destroy the discs, just buy one at a yard sale for this price or lower.

you can easily get around the etching by polishing the disc. snapping the disc is one of the most effective ways, or heating, but that produces toxic fumes, which we DON'T like.

14. using your keys, skin them, leave just the plastic to make cool coasters
15. use a tesla coil
16. use a magnetron.
17. use acid
18. dip them in paint
19. store them in concrete (with separation)
20. play air hockey with them (they will scratch if you use it as paddles)
21. use hot glue
22. use crazy glue or similar compound to weld together two or more...
23. use as ashtrays.
24. use gardening scissors
25. drag them under your chair
