These are sound isolation headphones. (understandably -- their website is  as confusing as their name.) They have a closed back and a silicon rubber earpiece to accousstically isolate the ear canal. As far as I know this was started by Sony a few years back with their "Nude" series. Now it seems everyone in Akihabara has a copy. Is this type available in USA yet? The Sony ones work great.
