Clearly an ultra-thin 12" is not what any self respecting editor would use, even for field work.  Apple already has laptops for that, they're called Macbook Pros and they're excellent for Final Cut on the move. I even live and work next door to their headquarters. But it gets you stuck inside an ecosystem where videos must have IPOD formats and music is less transferrable without a million dollar accessory purchase. Apple is genius for doing this but it makes me less inclined to purchase their products (and I have not, to this date, done so). I have one in my Toshiba Dynabook and the hard drive goes like crazy, the operating system (XP) locks up while the cpu is only at 15%. This happeneds with simple things like emptying the recycle bin or opening firefox.<br><br>This is the reason that Lenovo/IBM Thinkpads no longer use the 1.8 drive in their ultraportables.
