They really think the pickpocket snatches your wallet then immediately opens it? A pickpocket snatches, runs and somewhere far away from the victim takes the goodies out. So what if an alarm buzzes? It takes a only low amount of light to trigger it. If your wallet is pulled out of your pocked during the day or in a place well lit they don't have to open it.
