This is not true and I don't know why people keep reporting it this way. NAOMI games could be made to run with or without the GD-ROM, and most NAOMI games do *not* use GD-ROM's. The Wikipedia entry has a list of both types:

It's not as if NAOMI has seen a huge number of releases, though, so it's probably likely that there won't be too many new NAOMI games anyway. But it's not because of the death of the GD-ROM. I mean, NAOMI was first launched before the GD-ROM even existed, after all.
