The dog constantly travels between the leader and any stragglers to try and keep the pack together. Unfortunately an aging dog knows no better and so as stamina decreases the options are: keep the dog on the lead which is frustrating for owner and dog alike; put up with an over exerted dog; or buy a pedometer work out the relative doggy distances and adjust the human distances accordingly. I'm sad enough to have tried this with a GPS unit ;)

where can I get one?

eric
