And, hopefully, it will get kids interested in music.  <br>As for it being junk... maybe.  <br>But not much junkier than what you can get now for $25 (a used strat copy?) and it will give the kids something to play with other than the real guitar.  (My parents unwittingly let me play around with my mom's old $50 guitar she had from college.  Thankfully I didn't break it: it's a 1935 Martin.
