I don't believe the UI design is useful in real practice. Not any faster than simple click. Of course, I have never tried Vista. I'm biased. Anyways, I have all of the Extras and the updates installed :)

For those complaining about "updates already?" realize that Microsoft has had from November to now to continue working on some bugs that weren't critical enough to stop RTM, but now they are getting them out on day one... It's small and painless. :)
