The PSP doesn't get hot at all, even after several hours. There's a small amount of heat coming from the memory stick slot and sometimes the battery, but you won't notice it if you're playing it and holding it normally. This is just a great way to ruin a $200 device. And, like humpty said, to get dust in the UMD.
