DataWind shows off PocketSurfer 2 at 3GSM
We were still hoping some day soon we might get our hands on the vaguely vaporous original 2004 PocketSurfer, but apparently DataWind has finally jumped to the sequel with their new PocketSurfer 2. Demoed live at 3GSM today (sorry folks, they only supplied a render), the new PocketSurfer not only has a slimmer physique, it's also finally gotten its own cellular radio, too. (Aww, isn't that special.) They didn't mention which kind, but apparently DadaWind will hook you up with a free unit if you show up at 3GSM and load a page on your mobile device faster than they can with their PocketSurfer 2. Tomorrow we might just have to take them up on their little offer.

is it just me, or is that screen patheticly small? even if it can load pages faster, whats the point if you cant see the damn things without a microscope?
one of the worst looking concepts I've seen, and I've seen some bad ones.
Are these guys competing with Blackberry for the 2007 World's Ugliest Phone award?
What's with the tiny screen? If you expect a phone to be used for browsing it needs at least a WVGA screen.
I'm hoping there's more to this phone! .. Does it open up and then ninjas pop out? Maybe it generates a 3D hologram?
If the screen was alot bigger, it would look OK.
If you follow the link above to the press release and look on the right for the picture with the guy wearing the turban, you'll notice that the thing opens up (clam shell style) and has a full keyboard and large screen inside.
An excellent high utility gadget I have ever seen.If someone has guts to challenge,Accept it.If you cant take the challenge, better keep shut then giving lousy comments.
The phone opens up to reveal a much larger screen and a qwerty keypad... get your facts right before you post...
