Can I take that same sim card and put it in a pc data card and get data via a pc card and then when I want to use it in the OQO then I could put it in the OQO.

It seems if the SIM card would work on multiple HSDPA enabled devices then that would be the main reason for someone here in the U.S. to want HSDPA....assuming they had multiple devices. It seems with EVDO then you are stuck with it inside the device only.

Cingular

Comments on OQO Model 02 goes HSDPA at 3GSM

Assuming they are going to come out with an HSDPA model that works here in the U.S. hopefully with Cingular, then isn't HSDPA more flexible than EVDO, i.e.

I could take the SIM card out of the OQO and place it into a data pc card for a laptop or maybe a pda phone or maybe into a supporting device like a Kyocera KR1 router...in other words, if I choose to leave the house without the OQO but with a laptop, then I just pop out the SIM card of the OQO and pop it into the laptop data pc card and I just pay for one data service.

I'm assuming this will work, but I have never tried it. I have been told that it works that way with cell phones but I'm not sure for the more expensive laptop data connect. If this is the case then I would rather go with HSDPA than EVDO despite the poorer coverage area of HSDPA. A few phones I have been eyeing is the Moto v3xx, Nokia E90, Toshiba G900 and the Samsung U600....in terms of HSDPA phones.

Second thought: I assume that dual-cor company might have the patent on booting in either Windows or Windows Mobile, but if not then it'd be nice to see the 02 boot up in Windows Mobile 6.0 now that it supports 800x480 resolution. Put an SSD drive in there and watch the battery life go up when you really don't need all the XP/Vista stuff, then switch over when you do.

k12

Comments on OQO Model 02 goes HSDPA at 3GSM

Shame it requires a digitizer pen to use the touch-screen, it isn't even mounted on the device.

Bazza

Comments on OQO Model 02 goes HSDPA at 3GSM

I will buy one of these way before a wannabe computer called iPhone.

timothystorey57

Comments on OQO Model 02 goes HSDPA at 3GSM

The real shame is that this has a revision 0 EVDO modem in the US.
