I would jump ship to the new iMate Ultimates - SLIM, 640x480 resolution and I'll be the BT beats the crap out of the HTC BT. What does HTC have a against slim units with VGA resolution (hell what do they have against slim units period?)

Unfortunately, I'd have to give up my sweet deal with Sprint to get a decent phone. Hard decsion to make. It would take many many years to haggle cingular down to a plan similar to what I have with Sprint currently.

I really wish fair trade was allowed to with Sprint so you could get any phone a manufacturer made that works on the US CDMA standard. No manufacturer will make a US CDMA phone unless Sprint or Verizon says they'll sell it though since you can only run a Verizon authorized phone or a Sprint authorized phone - seems silly you can't even switch a Verizon phone to Sprint and vice versa. Can you imagine if Comcast said you had to buy their PCs just to use their cable network?

boe

Comments on Rumored HTC Sirius, Erato, and Wings get detailed specs and dates

if you like the 6700, but think it's too thick, hold on....have seen the new 6800 from Sprint...you'll like...trust me. Frankly the 6800 was obsolete a year ago - releasing 2 months from now isn't exactly keeping me on the edge of my seat.

boe

Comments on Rumored HTC Sirius, Erato, and Wings get detailed specs and dates

if the other 2 phones have a 3.5 inch display it does not look like the star trek flipper has anything near 2.4 in.

markf

Comments on Rumored HTC Sirius, Erato, and Wings get detailed specs and dates

One of the things I don't like about the "VGA IS BETTER!" arguments is that a VGA display on a WM device doesn't directly offer more information, just higher DPI for screen elements.

Thus, programs have to be specifically coded to use insanely little fonts, or everything just looks 'smoother'. Do you really need smoother? QVGA screens aren't really hard to read.

If you're going to complain, you should say whether or not you want more information or higher quality display, not just "WAAAH NO VGA!"

Hawk

Comments on Rumored HTC Sirius, Erato, and Wings get detailed specs and dates

VGA IS BETTER - I use my phone for Excel Spreadsheets and browsing the web. I had the oppportunity to try the HTC Universal. And while this was even BIGGER than the absurdly sized HTC 6600 and 6700, it was much more functional for those two tasks. The iMates Ultimates offer VGA resolution but in very SLIM and reasonable form factors - OH and YES, they are ALL Full PPC phones - none of that smartphone crap that is basically PPC but completely gimped.

If you are going to "correct" someone make sure you know what you are talking about.

boe

Comments on Rumored HTC Sirius, Erato, and Wings get detailed specs and dates

Just thought I'd point out anyone using WM6 to check their e-mail will also want VGA as WM6 now supports HTML format for e-mail

boe
