A classic example of this is Samsung, they made and still sell a 22" LCD with their LCD panel in it and then started using another panel from another manufacturer that is about half as good. They sell them for the same price and as the same LCD you can't tell which is which without looking at the serial number on the back, so if you get screwed with this crappy LCD you are mad as hell!
The way this is setup I’d say it should be sold as a multimedia LCD not gaming.
