Developers talk PSP's future
took some time on PSP's 2nd anniversary to ask several developers what they thought the future held for PSP. Here are some of the more interesting excerpts:
Ready at Dawn (devs of Daxter and the upcoming PSP God of War)
"I think it's bringing a whole new crowd to handheld gaming, people that would have never played the type of games on previous handhelds."
SCEA's SOCOM Team
"The PSP is a great platform, but very few publishers and developers are creating games that really take advantage of the platform. I really hope that this will change. We have many more great PSP games coming out and I hope you look forward to them. "

High Impact Studios (Ratchet & Clank Size Matters)
"To utilize Game 3.0, PSP users could create characters, levels, puzzles, challenges, trophies, anything developers allow, and then share them with each other ad-hoc or online. Or, you could maybe make PS3 content on the go with the PSP, and then load it when they get back home later. "
SCE Studios San Diego (MLB, NBA & Gretzky NHL)
"As more and more titles (games and other media) become available through legitimate download services, consumers will truly begin to recognize the power and convenience of the PSP."

"I think that PlayStation Portable has a bright future. People will see more titles which use the PSP's high-powered processing and big and beautiful screen in the future. I have a lot of game ideas for PSP and look forward working on more PSP titles."

"Personally, I would like to see other games find ways to push the production values. Adding full voice makes a game so much more immersive than having to read a lot of text. Full musical scores. That kind of thing. "

"There's still this image of PSP being mainly a "portable game device" rather than a multimedia entertainment device - that is, including myself, as I don't use the PSP other than to play games - so I'm looking forward to how the other possibilities and uses of the PSP will be promoted including the connectivity between PS3 and the recently announced Home."
