I am always amazed at some that have never used anything like that or have no clue and just bash as long it is Sony or Apple. This device does play MP3s, and also DRM Atrac (which is very unusual and a big step for Sony). They introduced a similar model that does not require Bravia digital port - CPF-IX001. Works like a charm!
