It sucks that We bought our Razr V3Ms from VZW and had to hack them (We know nothing of hacking, just followed the directions on websites) to get our "Motorola handsets" to work with MOTOROLA PHONE TOOLS! On Motorola's website advertising MPT it has a disclaimer stating: Verizon Wireless customers contact your service provider before making this purchase, (because vzw changes a letter in your handset to make it so you HAVE to buy their software instead of mpt), due to provider request. Don't get me wrong, Verizon Wireless has great network coverage, or else why offer the Test Drive Option? Even overage calls are credited as long as you port to another carrier. PRETTY MUCH: this handset is badass, but the Moto RAZR MAXX Ve is scheduled for an April 24 release on Verizon Wireless.Makes me want to get one!! But I will hold my breath until the iPhone drops. Cingular, here I come (MAYBE!). good luck comraades, and don't get suckered into the New Every Two "DEAL" ok renew with us for 2 more years and get 50 to 100 dollars off your "upgrade" handset depending on your handset's calling plan price and the value that Verizon Wireless decides to place on you as a customer.

manorama

Comments on LG's VX8700 clam launches with Verizon

The Moto Razr MAXX is cheap feeling, shows every fingerprint to ever touch it, and is not an improvement over the "old" Razr, at least not aesthetically. The VX8700 is a beutiful phone. The keypad takes some getting used to, and I still cannot figure out how to save my photos to the transflash, which was easy on my Moto v710. Has anyone ehere ever owned a razr or any of the series at all??? They are the worst phones in the world. This might might look like a razr but it is sooooooo much better. I had the KRZR (new version of razr) and I paid tons of money for it and I ended up hating it because it was so SLOW. Like a 15 year old computer. It took about 1 minute, seriously, 1 MINUTE! to go into any menu or for any button to react. I had a nervous break down trying to make a phone call.

See that was the problem with the Razr, and they were supposedly supposed to changed it and fix it in the Krzr but they didn't at all.

LG has never had any problems with the button reactions. They are good phones, not like every motorola I have ever had had some sort of problem, if not the charging than the camera or it was slow.

So, this is a not motorola, though motorola had a nice design it messed up everything else in the phone. I routinely ask to borrow RAZRs from various friends, and the phones uniformly perform very poorly. I really don't know how people tolerate such a poor performing UI. All style, no substance. The last time Motorola released a great phone was the StarTac. How far they have fallen.

I just ordered a VX8700 and am eagerly awaiting a FedEx delivery (curse holiday weekends!). I have had it for a week and it rocks. Feels solid, runs fast, sounds great and maybe better. It is a solid phone but also more. I missed my Navigator and the 8700 gave it back, I needed a phone a could use as a real modem and now I have one. It works great with BitPim and now I have every contact from my computer in my pocket. The menus are fast and the stock battery for me lasts 2.5 to 3 days. I just got the extended battery and should be able to go for days now. I have dropped it out of my truck twice and on the sidewalk once. These things make you want to cry but they will and are going to happen. It took the hits and still looks good. I have ordered the carbon fiber skins for it so next time I drop it I won't be so sad.
All this to say my past favorite phones were the Treo 650 and an old Samsung. This one has officially become my number favorite phone.
