Baby Grand Master piano packs full-blown sound system
We've seen overkill in just about every venue imaginable, but just in case owning a pearly white Baby Grand wasn't superfluous enough, Gardner Post has made sure that its rendition is undoubtedly over the top. This beauty forgoes the typical keys for a swank AV system, as users will be graced with dual Pioneer DVJ-X1 DVD Players, a trio of Marshal LCD monitors, and an Edirol V-4 video mixer -- and that's just the video front. As far as audio is concerning, you'll find an Allen and Heath Xone 92 audio mixer, dual 15-inch subwoofers, an 18-incher to handle the low-lows, a 12-inch subwoofer strictly for bragging rights, three Bullet tweeters, and an AB 1,100-watt amplifier to provide the juice. Furthermore, these bad boys can be customized to the hilt for those willing to pay the price, as deep-pocketed customers can add hydraulic legs and lid, neon accents, personalized paint jobs, and fog / laser adornments. Unsurprisingly, you'll have to contact the manufacturer and maintain a serious line of credit before you'll get a price range on this thing, but if you've got to ask, you know it's out of reach. Those might look like turntables, but where are the tonearms?
Those are the the DVJ-X1's: the familiar DJ turntable UI on a DVD player.
Josh @ Apr 22nd 2007 10:21PM
Those are "digital" turn tables it looks like.. That's why there aren't any tone arms..

What, is this an electric piano or something? Total trash trophy item.

4 subs and 3 tweeters? What's covering the mid-range?
david @ Apr 22nd 2007 10:14PM
i don't get it.

Piano = 88 keys Read Dictionary. End of false definition.

True Ballin' gangstas don't care about mid range, just hit below 100Hz and be at least 100dB you can get any rapper to buy it.
Taylor @ Apr 22nd 2007 11:05PM
I think the problem is that there is NO KEYBOARD. If they attach an electric keyboard (MIDI, I guess) then it'll be worthy of being called a piano.
Then again, MIDI sounds nothing like a real piano.

all I have to say is what Jeremy K. said.

just so so

I think the mistake both of the title of the article and most of these responses, is thinking of this mostly as an audio device - although it has some kickass audio - it's a full fledged VJ video mixing system. With those DVD players you can scratch and mix video (and audio) in real time with music.... it's the video capabilities that make this thing fly
david @ Apr 23rd 2007 12:30PM
yes, and who would want to "mix and scratch" video? i'm not in Radiohead, and i don't do heroine, thus this does not appeal to me.
Josh K @ Apr 23rd 2007 1:52PM
I think what some people are forgetting is that this is clearly not made to be practical. So take it for what it is. Great gear in a creative setup.

I've got the 1210s that these try to emulate; I'm so behind the times.
