There are 65 VGA phones that have been released over the last 2 years. HTC's low res 240x320 screen would not do justice for web browsing, PDF viewing, powerpoint and excel and some word documents. Better for contacts and now with WM6 the biggest improvement is HTML e-mail viewing - pretty much everything a PDA phone is designed for other than making calls, VGA would help. Why is HTC so reluctant to release VGA pda phones in the US?

boe

Comments on T-Mobile Wing / HTC Herald shows up in FCC

HTC P4350 is produced in a charcoal grey. When will TMobile wake up and offer a DECENT Windows Mobile device in the United States ?!?! I am a T-Mobile sales rep and I just got off the phone with our "special accounts" (i.e. employee accounts) department. I asked if I could pre-order the Wing and my request was declined.

However, I found out that it would be available for T-Mobile employees on May 22. I then asked when it would be available for the general public. The gal looked it up and her screen said "4/25." Since we know that's not accurate, it may be safe to guess that it was a typo that meant "5/25." In the past, T-mobile has allowed its employees access to new phones a few days before its public release. I didn't confirm a price

Joey Barney

Comments on T-Mobile Wing / HTC Herald shows up in FCC

I was at T-Mo store yesterday and the rep confirmed we'll be seeing it in "under" a month. I read somewhere else that the tentative consumer release date is May 27, so we'll probably see it about then.

I'm not too cool with the blue color scheme (geez, it reminds me of the entry level old school Casio EM-500 Pocket PC in assorted colors lol), but I'll still get it once it's released for the WM6 upgrade. I'm sure overall performance is "slightly" better as well. Could care less about the camera since I never use the cameras on these devices, and I'm dissapointed about the email and Internet Explorer buttons (on top of the existing MDA) being removed. I know I can reprogram the buttons layout but damn, can't I have an ok, startmenu, mail and IE buttons on front of a device? Come on T-Mobile.

Eriq

Comments on T-Mobile Wing / HTC Herald shows up in FCC

ok, so to clear up any cloudiness here the T-Mobile Wing was added to the upgrade program as of April 25, 2007. It will be added to the retail as well as the employee phone programs on May 22, 2007. So be on the lookout, there has not been a price released as of yet but I'm sure it will be similarly priced to the MDA when it came out. Hope this helps :)

T-Mobile Rep

Comments on T-Mobile Wing / HTC Herald shows up in FCC

Just got off the phone. The 14-year old cheerleader sounding girl (who I could barely understand) said she hadn't heard anything about it, but looked up the information on hand and said that the official launch date is, in fact, May 22nd.
