Leopard has been delayed for quite a while now and any new computer products to be announced on Monday have one of two release options. A) They're released shortly after the announcment or B) There release at the same time as Leopard. My guess has to be choice B and here's why:

Sales in Apple computers has declined in recent months in anticipation for the Leopard release. Why would a customer want to buy a new Macbook today when he can wait until October to get one with Leopard? This would be a dumb move and most Apple customers aren't that dumb.

However, there is evidence to suggest that today's buyers will, in fact, get a free copy of Leopard once it's released. Why would Apple release the upgraded MBPs only a week and a half ahead of the WWDC when they could have announced it then? My guess is that they're trying to move into the Santa Rosa market as ahead of the game as possible. Even so, PC users already know they're getting Vista on their new purchases while Apple users know Leopard is 4 months away. So what's the advantage of announcing the new MBPs now when most of them won't be sold until then? These points may be contradictory but they support my arguement that what you say isn't necessarily true and that you should get your story straight before you make an assertion.

TJ

Comments on

Everyone say nothing is going to come out that way great stuff is announced.
Because we seem to jinx stuff whenever we guess what some CEO comes out and says.
How long have we been guessing a widescreen iPod like over a year?
so lets all put our hopes down and pretend to be surprised if something comes out of WWDC.

Andrew

Comments on

Steve Jobs' pet leopard's getting hungry.
