The 70 or so deaths that Amnesty keeps talking about are incidents where an indvidual has been hit with a TASER and then later (up to a week later) died. However, what most fail to mention is that in nearly all these cases the TASER was used in combination with physical force (and in some cases even gunfire) where the subject had to be physically restrained AFTER the TASER had been used (ie after the person was cuffed they continued to fight the officers). You might also want to look at how many of the victims were under the influence of narcotics. I hear coke and meth is REAL good for the ol' ticker. And while you're at it, look into the studies on excited delirium.
