This greenbox then screws into the end. If you have the greenbox picked up with "curbside" recycling then you could remove it every 2 weeks or something (without getting under the car) and have it picked up. Even if they can figure out how to build that small of a CO2 sequestering device, it will restrict exhaust far more than a catalytic converter and muffler do.  Your average American isn't going to trade horsepower for reduced emissions.  <br><br>Notice I said reduced emissions, not fuel efficiency.  While fuel efficiency increases have immediate and direct cost savings for the consumer, reduced emissions and global warming are too vague of notions for most people to really care about. How much do these green boxes cost? How much fuel does the manufacturing plant need to create these things? What will it do to the aerodynamics of my car. How easy is changing these things out? What happens if there aren't any greenboxes available? How do I KNOW I need to change my box? Besides, capturing the CO2 is a redundant operation if you are using bioenergy in the first place. This isn't a plan to get you rich or solve any energy problems, it's a plan to reduce emissions, hopefully for a feasible price. I think they are some of the worst polluting offenders.  Then, go to the heavy machinery, and trucking industry.  I'm no scientist, I'm only speaking for what I see when I drive around.<br><br>To those who think that all the pollution coming from cars and buses, factories, etc, doesn't have any significant effect to our environment, are in complete denial.  Just look at LA with its sunny and clear skies.  I'm not an alarmist and say that we're going to die tomorrow.  But, everything we do has effect on the environment. Currently the size of the capturing device is very large and they have a working prototype and they have also developed the other components involved i.e the processing plant. The device works very well but they currently have size problems which they believe can be resolved with good engineering. I think if this idea works a lot of third world countries where fuel efficiency and cost are biggest influencing factors in an automobile purchase this system could be great esp since high speeds arent viable anyways on the roads of those counties. That way you don't have to think about it it just takes the carbon emissions while you fill your tank. But otherwise it's like your making your car slower, just to give these big corperations even more money. I would be willing to put this on my sports car; we don't even know how restrictive it is. Its not going to happen -- it involves the driver far too much.  Also, someone is going to charge a fee for these things which will deter many from deploying the system.  We focus far too much on cars. That's a lot of effort to capture something that is floating around free in the atmosphere. It seems the there are two choices for improving the design. <br>Change the position of the box to make it more accessible or increase it's capacity<br>so you'd only need to change it every six months or so - just another line-item at the dealership. for example.  <br><br>I do agree with Shawn thesis.
