Look at a Oregon Scientific ATC 2000. They are about $100 and record an hours worth of 640x480 @ 30 fps on a 2gb SD card. It uses 2 AA batteries. I used it on a motorcycle trip to Montana and also on my helmet @ work to record some interior fire attack on a structure fire.

Down side is the audio... it sucks. But the image quality for such a small camera is pretty good. A micro-SD can't take as much video as my laptop HD and are expensive to buy in loads.
