A stuffed animal is nice and can be comforting, but this seems to want to push it further into a replacement for human interaction. Kids need to develop real social skills, especially if they've been traumatized. They need to be able to learn how to regain trust in people, not feel abandoned by them. Hospitals are extremely boring and you dont get much interaction with people other then the doc or nurse asking you a million questions over and over again. There usually understaffed so most employees are overwhelmed with work. Only company that you get to spend time with is your family which have alot of stuff to do anyway. You clearly can't read that this is being developed by a belgium robotics research team, not microsoft.  Billy is only investing in the effort, and clearly it's a good effort.  Many children will be amazed, amused, and cheerful with hybrid robo-plushies such as this.  Let it bring a smile to a child's face instead of bringing anti microsoft thoughts to yours.  Just because it is invested in by Microsoft, doesn't mean you should go and diss it.
