Palm rolls out WM6 upgrade for Vodafone's Treo 750v
Still no love for AT&T customers just yet, but Palm's Treo 750 is slowly transforming from a Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC to a Windows Mobile 6 Professional device across the globe. Following an earlier Australian announcement, it now seems that the official upgrade is available to customers of the Vodafone variant -- the 750v, naturally -- in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Even better, the free download flips the switch on HSDPA, but careful: it's one download per customer for whatever reason, so make sure you drop it on a hard drive that's not seconds away from crashing.[Via the::unwired]

How about some love for Verizon customers? We are still walking around with an anntena sticking out the top. The same form factor that was released years ago with the 650. Palm has really become irrelevant in the smart phone space. It is really sad what management has done to this once great and promising company!

I hope you've read Engadget's open letter to Palm.

Ooooooh! I've been looking forward to this for a while.
Just to let people know, the update download is ~60mb.
My phone is upgrading itself as we speak. (I bet £10 it bricks ;))

Is the MSN application still available in the Vodafone WM6 build?
PistolPeet @ Aug 30th 2007 5:29AM
The MSN application wasn't available in my original Vodafone WM5 build, and still isn't in WM6. Strange really, you'd think they'd be happy to put anything on that'd mean more data charges.

Did the upgrade. Be careful. They mean the "download once" restriction.
Secondly since I did not have a backup of my contacts in Outlook, I am having trouble restoring them from an on device backup (Sprite). It has got my calendar back and "My documents". It looks like it is running faster than WM5. New look, faster comms, faster app start. Probably a good enough reason to upgrade for most people.
