Last I checked, it is the easiest format to get an adaptor to, since its shape fits any other popular flash memory format within. (Invest in microsd and you're good to go!).

CF is also a good format in numerous ways, not least of which being the physical shape, which makes for greater durability (no directly exposed metal) and less chance of them being lost under one's finger nails.

3.5inch screen that covers almost the whole of the front of the player, line in and excellent video codec support.
I can actually think of quite a few "boringer" pmps in the market.
