We got our grubby mitts all over Samsung's new
YP-P2 "palm theater" at IFA, and we'd thought we'd share all the widescreen havin', movie playin', music listenin' action with you. The player is extremely light and thin, but still feels pretty substantial in your hand (it's not tiny). The screen isn't quite as clear as something like the iPhone, though it definitely holds its own. The UI is clean and ultra simple, sporting easy-on-the-eyes lists for most sections, and a familiar icon grid for your main apps. The touch screen response was extra-lively, even for our gigantic paws. Check the gallery for more photos than you can shake a stick at. No... seriously, you can't shake a stick at them.

The UI has... let's say "a strong resemblance" to LG Prada UI.
(to phrase it politely)

come one i need to know... this is my top choice to replace my faithful YP-Y7... tho the new zen is looking good with its SD SDHC support... oh and of course there is always whatever comes out of cupertino on the 5th..
replacing my good old Y7 is gonna be a lot of fun.. i might end up buying a HDD ipod (because i need the storage) and a flash base YP-P2, Zen, or Ipod Nano..... soo many choices =D

That really does look nice! PMPs these days sure are looking much sleeker and sexier than before. I love the fact that its widescreen. In my opinion, the video iPod should have been widescreen. I don't know how big the screen is on this thing, but I never bought the video iPod just because in my opinion I thought that a 2.5" screen was a bit too small for viewing videos (especially when that circular navigational wheel takes up more space on the thing than the screen itself). But hey, whatever floats your boat . . .

Hello? Does this thing support UMS? If it does I'm sold.
Earnest @ Sep 2nd 2007 1:45PM
I like PMP's with stereo bluetooth. I wonder if there will be any document support. I hear the interface is done in flash. I'd deal with flashpaper if I had to, but PDF or TXT would be best.

does anyone know if it supports subtitles(SRT files)?
