I have nothing against Toshiba but I've never liked their laptops cause they always FEEL cheap. When I was in College years ago I was an M.O.D at Best Buy. HP laptops always felt of higher quality than the Toshibas whch seemed to have plastic that bent and flexed under pressure. They also had flimsy keyboards.

That was years ago then. Have you tried any of the new satellites NOW?

I've worked with the older Satellies and I must say they did feel cheap. Now I have the chance to work with a new one and it feels very sturdy. The smooth finish is very nice too. Overall, it's a solid budget laptop.

I keep looking at all the new 15.4" models from various manufacturers looking for a WXGA+. If I was to lug a 17", it would be a WSXGA+. Seems my eyes get leapfrogged!!

I think your headline was meant to read, "Toshiba takes a fresh crap of Satellite laptops."

I work at a major retailer and I see more of these things brought back with weird little BIOS issues. I'd say for every dead HDD I have in another brand, I probably have four BIOS issues with a Toshiba. I wish they'd work harder on revising "final" BIOSs before they drop 60 new models.

That said, they do feel better than previous lines of Sats... but they perform about as abysmally.

For gaming the HPs cant compare to Toshiba. For nearly any other reason I don't see much difference between the two. I have owned products by both, and I wouldn't be able to say one is any better than the other.

According to Intel, T2500 is pretty much the same as T7100. U305 seems pretty similar to prior model.
Just bought a 305, like it so fat. Much better than the prior HP, I hate the HP hidden partition nonsense. HP had 2X bloatware as well.
