This is a nice addition to the xbox basic or shall i say arcade. I don't think it will change people's mind about buying an xbox but it will make the buyers more happy.
Maybe this x-box wont break like all 4 of my 360's have thus far...ps3 since launch day and ZERO problems so far...I think that the 360 is garbage but it has a much better title selection currently than the ps3...however, based upon both systems titles at year 1 I would say they are pretty much equal
hmmmm do I get this or the rumored $399 PS3 supposedly coming on 10.12?????
You'll proably want this, because you'll probably won't be able to find the rumored PS3 anywhere except on eBay for $500. And then Sony will discontinue it. Maybe start sell a 60GB system for $400, and you'll end up with the same problem.
PS3 will do for me if the 40gig is $399!
Jeez, FFXIII, MGS4, GT5, Killzone and LittleBigPlanet?!
It can't come soon enough in my opinion.
I don't get it.
Does this mean that all 360 consoles from now...err then on will come with hard drives?
Or is it just a 360 with that Arcade compilation DVD as a pack-in?
I'm hoping it's the former.
*Shrug.*
no hard drive on the arcade version, just extra games AND the HDMI port (which is a big selling port for a lot of people)
Googling for the UPC that is listed on TRU's site brings up another etailer I haven't heard of, but lists this as the contents:
"Includes X360 Core unit with HDMI output, a wireless controller, a 256mg memory module and 5 games on 1 disc" (maybe the Arcade Unplugged disk, or something like it).
wow if thats right this thing may be worth buying... nice!
So it's ready to play out of the box, unlike the Core in which you would have to buy a memory card or a hard drive. It would have been nice to have it out in time for Halo, but I'm glad I waited.
so my q is, what exactly i the diff between the core and the arcade??? is it just the hard drive factor??? someone give me answers, please!

I was just told at Best Buy, you cannot play Halo 3 without a hard drive. Is this true? He said that even the 512Mg Ram chip is not big enough.
And I do mean HALO 3. In fact, you absolutely CANNOT play HALO CE or HALO 2 without a harddrive
You were lied to. My xbox broke in August but I already had Halo reserved. Ever since the night it came out I have been playing over at a buddy's house with a 64mb memory card. When you play online, Live downloads updates to the game, but the updates must be able to fit on a 64mb card along with my gamertag which is 5mb or 10mb alone because I have played about 200 sessions since sept 25th. It would be much better if you had a hard drive though because saved games are about 5mb in size so you would probably be devoting that entire memory card to HALO.
Short story -you can play HALO from a memory card.
