This is just another company slapping the GE logo after licensing the logo from GE. The real GE does not make coffee makers or alarm clocks or TVs or DVD players or this camera. Some of the things that GE makes are light bulbs, large appliances like washer, dryer, refrigerator, jet engines, medical equipment, nuclear reactors, power plants, locomotives (I work for this division), and industrial systems. They also own NBC-Universal, GE Money, some insurance outfits, etc. They also have a leasing business.

I always wonder why GE licenses its logos to all these manufacturers. I have always found the alarm clocks, and other small products made by other companies with GE logos to be very poor in quality!

Siva

Comments on GE rolls out pink and black H855 digital cameras

GE cameras...discreet?

strider_mt2k

Comments on GE rolls out pink and black H855 digital cameras

GE makes EVERYTHING!!! They sold the GE brand; they are made by Thomsen consumer electronics, which has the rights to the GE brand. I know they make MOST of their own medical equipment. I used to work in their ultrasound devision. Them, and Philips and Siemens are the top three, not only making their own, but buying up all the smaller OEM's. Now, if you would consider a 300k ultrasound a consumer product is debatable, I guess.

jacko

Comments on GE rolls out pink and black H855 digital cameras

Yet another product using the very marketable breast cancer angle. Whenever a company is selling something with the promise that a "portion of the proceeds" will go to help a cause, it sets off huge alarm bells. for me. Tell me how much is going, or I'm not buying it. "Cause" marketing really ticks me, the sponsoring organization sells off their good name for a few bucks & the private companies reap nearly all the benefits with very little public good coming out of it. You end up with absurdities like American Heart Association logos on cereals that are 50% sugar and others like it.

I give to charity, and I encourage it. But honestly, you're a chump if you think buying that pink camera will benefit breast cancer research more than it benefits GE.

Jake

Comments on GE rolls out pink and black H855 digital cameras

I just got the pink breast cancer camera, and it takes the worst pictures from far away.
