Joystiq's hands-on with the PlayStation Eye
The fanatical crew of card-and-video-game enthusiasts over at Joystiq have apparently had the unique pleasure of a hands-on with the newest and wackiest PS3 accessory, the PlayStation Eye and its bundled game Eye of Judgment. If you'll recall, the interactive, VGA camera is integrated with the Magic: The Gathering-like game, which uses real cards and a mat that the camera is aimed at. We understand the Joystiq team really put the game (and the Eye) through its paces in a 36-hour, pepperoni-pizza-filled, jolt-drinking marathon, which ended when one of the players' chaotic-neutral wizards cast "sleep" on everyone, but exhausted his remaining mana in the process. Browse on over to the Joystiq'ers pad and get all the nasty details.

Always been a Wii boy myself, but the Playstation Eye does seem pretty cool, but the extravagant price tag still puts me off (I know it is still one of the cheapest blu-ray players etc but still).

Give it time. I don't understand all the hate around the price. Let the market do it's thing. If you still like the state of the Playstation when it's in your affordable range, buy it. If not. Don't.
IMO, those that bash the price either secretly want it and can't afford it (justify the cost) or they are trolls latching on to the idea that the cost to play is the downfall of Playstation.
The price of the PS3 shouldn't even be a point of discussion. If you want it, and can justify it. Buy it.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree, the price is important for ANY product, it is a simple fact, which is shown in the sales, the Wii is winning (incidentally it is the cheapest) and the PS3 is trailing behind X360 + Wii. I am not saying it is a bad machine. nor that I wouldn't want one, just that it is simply priced excessively compared to the rival machines.

Does the Playstation Eye work with OS X and Windows XP?
