While my girlfriend's laptop (I'm not shitting you, it's got a 12 cell) sports 10 hours minimum (at max performance) of battery life, and when you switch it to low performance it nearly doubles (approx. 75% increase).

AlexP

Comments on Gateway rolls out P-series laptops, GT-series desktop

i made the mistake of buying a gateway laptop that had turion 64 mobile technology instead of X2 about a year ago. I don't think I have heard the name in the news in the last several years. Now... in the last week or two all I see is Gateway! Of the two, I'd go with the 449 one because it's GL960 chipset allows upgrading the cpu to a merom core 2 duo and sports a 533/667/800 FSB, with support for up to 4gigs of ram. Of course you'd have to upgrade the cpu to a merom chip with the intel 64 extension and purchase a 64bit version of windows to make use of those 4 gigs, but I guess it's comforting to know you could if you wanted to.

Cash

Comments on Gateway rolls out P-series laptops, GT-series desktop

Why the fuck would you want a Pentium?

AlexP

Comments on Gateway rolls out P-series laptops, GT-series desktop

AlexP: Pentium Dual-Core are rebranded Core 2 Duo with only 1MB of cache

pkontrol
