This is the original model. Why does anyone think this is a new, updated model?

Bill

Comments on

Um...What's so new about this? I have my Myfi that was manufactured in 2004 according to the box. I can't even tell what's different, except maybe a new label stating the IC: above the FCC ID. XM has discontinued this model already for quite a while now, with newer radios. The only thing that I can point out is the new label is mentioned in a few documents, and the use of XM's SureConnect technology. Now I know this model has been discontinued by XM, and has never had SureConnect (new technology released in 2006), and has never needed it due to it's very powerful FM broadcasting..which I love :D. So I'm thinking the FCC had asked them to decrease the FM modulator output (which they have done with all their current radios now, which makes it sound like cr*p, unless you use their stupid SureConnect antenna), but I don't see why as it is no longer sold by XM, and since it's the same model number I doubt they're releasing a nwe model with a color screen. I did read on an XM forum that a CSR for XM posted that they've been receiving a few calls that the MyFi has been shorting out when used with the car dock, but I doubt that this has anything to do with it. Overall, I have no idea why XM filed these today's but the reports are interesting...maybe they're planning on a re-release of the model with their SureConnect technology? Who knows?

Dominic

Comments on

don't u guys mean "sketchy"?i heard one other person say something was "sketch" before, and he just sounded like someone who was trying to use slang he didnt know how to use.

Sirius > XM

neon
