Twelve Sky public beta opens

Aeria Games and Entertainment has launched the open beta of their new MMO Twelve Sky on 12 October. During the Open Beta, Aeria will be running special events, giveaways, promotions and competitions.

Twelve Sky is an oriental style, martial arts based MMORPG set in ancient China. Players are embroiled in an ages-old conflict between three warring factions, each seeking holy relics to destroy the opposition.

The combat system sports multiple creature hit locations, and variable death animations, and claims to be solo- as well as party-friendly. Monsters are easier to defeat, focusing instead on exploration and PvP rather than PvE grinding. Twelve Sky boasts a varied combat and non-combat skill system, and the system hardware requirements are surprisingly low (is that the Quake III engine I see there?).

All of Aeria's games (which also includes Last Chaos and Project Torque) are free-to-download and free-to-play. Aeria apparently supports its games with an item mall where gamers can buy pro-items and higher-powered gear with Aeria Points. Aeria Points can be obtained in a few ways, but the most common is to purchase them with real currency.

Grab the Twelve Sky client, register an account with Aeria, and get some beta martial-arts PvP action!
