As for the HD-DVD game comment, it's the only logical direction. Once they con consumers into accepting the drive is in there the game developers will be all over it. As well as a number of PS3 titles both available and in development have proven the need for BR capacity. As for watching movies.. What's the point? Oh that's right, you've got nothing better to reply with.. PS3 fanboy? Hardly. I got both my 360 premium and PS3 on their respective launches. As for your claims about rumble I don't recall them saying never, I'm pretty sure they said it wasn't necessary and at that time interfered with motion sensing. You have to remember, at that time they were being sued by Immersion. AND $100 less. Doesn't seem like anything less to me. Then there's the 40GB which replaces the previous entry level SKU the 20GB. It still has no card reader but now it has 20GB more.. While they took away hardware PS2 BC they added Wifi(Wifi btw is a $100 OPTION on the 360 which negates all price arguments when comparing the two consoles). Oh yeah, AND it's $100 cheaper still! They can easily revise and bundle more options into Premium and Elite models. The thing is that pressure isn't high enough for them to even consider that.

So the "hell of a deal" you get from PS3 is really illusionary. I'm not saying one console is better than the other game wise. That's up to the individual gamer. I was referring at how MS has been able to sell more boxes, and keeping the prices down, by stripping the boxes to the bare minimum, and making their customers having to buy everything piece by piece at over inflated prices. Sure is good business for them, but not very nice for their customers who are getting screwed at the end. And, for the sake of their buyers, I hope the RRoD has been solved.

Rob

Comments on

Sure, I'll admit, it'll probably cost you more or less the same ammount to get the 360 up to 'PS3 spec', however here's a keyword... Choice. If you want the 360 to play HDDVD, then you chose it... If you can live without, don't buy it. Don't have WiFi? Don't buy the add-on. I have a 360 premium which uses WiFi without even the WiFi add on, just needed a 10m cross over cable into my laptop and use Internet Connection Sharing to jump on my WLAN. Saved me £50. This is also good, because while Sony or MS is forcing the price of the base console, peripherals can be dropped in price.
