Apparently targeted at game shoppers with bad eyesight, these accessories for the "Wu" game console reader Jordan Perr spotted in New York's Chinatown seem like less of a product and more like the Chinese
KIRF masters are playing a devious inside joke on us. Choices include what appears to be a knockoff of Brando's
Wii Sports Pack, a "PEGA" version of PEGO's
Airplane Controller Stand and a "Wu Combat Pack" with
sword and shield. No word on whether Wu accessories are compatible with the
Vii, but for a staggering $30 we expect nothing less. Peep a few more shots after the break.

I think you're just stupid enough to be unable to see that those are knockoff accessories for the wii... even you took a picture of the back side of a box with wii sports pics in it...
Have you ever seen a wii? perhaps a vii is most likely what you like to play.. lol
Jon @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:26PM
okay dick
Hoag @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:13PM
I was going to reply to marcelo, point out that non-native English speakers sometimes have difficulty recognizing irony, explain the joke...
But I've changed my mind, and I'm with Jon.
Okay, dick.
Mal F4cti0n @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:58PM
Thanks for letting everyone who reads Engadget know that you are an idiot and, as Jon and Hoag previously stated, a dick.
Alexander @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:49PM
I would also like to submit that he is a douche as well.
Chris @ Oct 22nd 2007 5:44PM
Hey, dick, why don't you get your eyes checked?
Nomi @ Oct 22nd 2007 7:01PM
Although a bad approach he took, the point he made was good.
Larz @ Oct 22nd 2007 8:11PM
"Hey, ginger-balls. What, are you... on your way to a dick meeting?"
nate @ Oct 22nd 2007 9:00PM
harsh flaming much?
rainygrass @ Oct 23rd 2007 1:50AM
"keepin' it real fake" or some just engadget losers' soooo happy to dig the chinese knock off (so happy that become the reason they wake up every morning)...then after 100 so called "chinese knockoff mp4 players" they can't find them anymore. now what, even a wii accessory's a chinese knockoff. i guess 1 month later, they will post sth like Chinese people each has 2 eyes 1 nose 1 mouth!!! American's knockoff...
Neon Jebus @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:24PM
Ah yes the Nintendo Wu, official system of Ric Flair.
Richard @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:37PM
I can see the commercials now:
"Diamonds are forever... and so is Ric Flair! WUUUUU!"
Or standing in front of a bunch of kids beating them on "Wu" Sports:
"To be the man... you gotta beat the man. WALK THAT AISLE! WUUUUUUU!"
Dualboot @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:27PM
Hey, I like my Adibas shoes and my Folex watch! I'll take some Wu tu...
strider_mt2k @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:04PM
I'll take my Sorny BS Tree!
daaper @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:15PM
Don't you recognize a genuine Panaphonic or Magnetbox when you see one?
Mike @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:29PM
So with all the knockoff consoles that come across the "Keeping it Real-Fake" news reel, how about a review of the actual hardware? Or all of these products just vapor-ware?
If there really is a "Wu" machine, buy one and try it out for us.
Basman @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:34PM
I agree, review these things!
Seraphim @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:37PM
If they reveiwed every fake they would have run out of money by now. Those chinese are some inventive folks. I mean 92 fakes each about $50 would be over 4.5 thousand dollars worth of junk.
Ethan @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:30PM
I imagine it would work very well with Brütal Legend. Totally über.
Josh @ Oct 22nd 2007 5:59PM
umlauts rock.
joe23521 @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:33PM
The real question is why does the Sports Pack come with a pregnancy test stick?
Anthony @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:49PM
It is to check if you have a wii one coming.
...Okay that was bad.
lupinstel @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:07PM
What is the problem? It is fully compatible with your wee.
Kaminix @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:35PM
Where can I get one?
CubeGuy @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:57PM
At any freaking game store. These things are everywhere. They have been since last year.
Kaminix @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:27PM
I want the Wu, not the Wii.
Jordan Perr @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:42PM
It was in some game shop in chinatown, new york. It was all overpriced in there anyway... If it was
CubeGuy @ Oct 22nd 2007 5:19PM
I know. I'm talking about the Wu-branded shells. I worked at GameStop and we got shipments of those blasted things every week.
Lee @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:46PM
OK please enough now with the fake stuff.... Most of us really don't care it's not as if we are going to either buy it or be dupped into buying it.
Just like you do an iPhone free feed as i have a "fake free feed".
NHAnimator @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:48PM
I wouldn't dare buy any legitimately-named product from this place either.
sr @ Oct 22nd 2007 9:38PM
Those NYC Chinatown stores carry good legitimate merchandise too. I got my Japanese copy of Shenmue II for Dreamcast there and my Japanese copy of Nintendogs. All original stuff. While everyone else is looking for a Lik-Sang equivalent and has to deal with shipping, I just take the 6 train.
geezer @ Oct 22nd 2007 2:52PM
Well I like my Wu more than my Wii - and that Wu Sports Pack rox!!!
procopio @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:06PM
Nintendo Wü
der00 @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:27PM
But Will it work with the " Vii " ..... hmmmmmmmm
deniz @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:38PM
the best knockoff name since aoliolias
Dylan K @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:41PM
But does it play Düüm?
riggs @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:48PM
you win the interwebz
Ellianth @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:43PM
"It's not about you or me.. it's about you! Oh wait..."
Ellianth @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:46PM
Just for fun engadget should buy one of these. I wanna see what it's like. Hopefully it rivals the POP station and the (shit what was it called?) Nindendo double game? in hilarity.
KarlW @ Oct 22nd 2007 3:59PM
Wow, got to give them the creativity points though.
isoSasquatch @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:11PM
Give Wu a break: how else is he going to compete with San Francisco c@*ks#¢kers?
Eric @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:14PM
Haven't companies been using the Wu logo since Wii was released for accessories? I know I've seen it dozens of time.
Alexander @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:52PM
Wow... I want to know where that shop is. They sell cases for Wii's in case you wanted something other than Virginal-White.
WTG, Nintenduh. You sell every other console in billions of colors, but yet the Wii--arguably your most popular system since the NES/Famicom--just comes in one.
And yes I know they are on various stores online, but I would want one from a store as I am fully happy paying the "I want it NOW" tax.
zachattackzero @ Oct 22nd 2007 4:58PM
This message brought to you by the Wu-Tang Clan. Be expecting the Wu Tang: Shaolin Style Tu...
I know I'm excited as hell!
PK @ Oct 22nd 2007 6:25PM
Wow - if the Nintendo Wii was a member of the Wu Tang Clan, its name would most likely be:
Big Gay Mule
(via the Wu Name Generator: http://www.recordstore.com/wuname/wuname.pl)
Tabajara Labs @ Oct 22nd 2007 6:11PM
Next installment in series: Nintendo Boo! :o)
Kade Miller @ Oct 22nd 2007 6:34PM
I bought one of the Wü component cables about 6 months ago because it was under $10AUD whereas the original would cost $40+AUD. I knew it was a knockoff and I laughed when I saw the logo, but it's obvious the original cable is overpriced when I can buy a comparable product that does the EXACT same job for less than a quarter of the price. Wü it up!
Harry @ Oct 22nd 2007 7:00PM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry..I just can't stop laughing.
The word "Wu" simply sounds funny.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Okay..I am done being a complete retard.
Fye @ Oct 22nd 2007 10:14PM
I've seen one of those when I was in Singapore. There were a few booths set up to promote PS3 and Xbox 360 (and some LCD TVs). Surprisingly, that Wu console was on demo just next to a PS3 demo!
Garst @ Oct 23rd 2007 3:36AM
Ahh, the Wü. That sounds like "woo, woo" like the sound a train makes?
