I guess it won't be shipping today. Still, I wanted to have a chance, and I wanted to force the issue with them. Alas, it's far from all that's broken on their website (show me something that isn't broken!).

Thanks for covering this, Engadget. Why am I chomping at the bit for a Windows PDA, you ask? Well, it so happens that piano tuning software is one niche that is still on the Pocket PC platform. It made sense in the beginning -- no keyboard to restrict placement of the display when doing a tuning, and no hard drive or fan noises to muddy the signal going into the thing. And I really want a high-res display. I had finally decided to take the plunge the week Dell discontinued the Axim, so I was happy when I saw the 200.

By the way, I called HP, and the only difference between the 210 and 211 is which retail channel it's sold through. But since HP can't make up their minds on when to put this on the market and they pump the price up with every announcement, I think I'll just invest a few hundred more and get a UMPC.

Needless to say, I am not happy with HP right now, and I am seriously considering dropping them like a hot potato

LawrenceK

Comments on HP clarifies iPaq situation: 210 delayed, 110 shipping now

HP Sucks Arse. Like it so far. Wish it came with a backup utility like my old 4150 though. Also WM6 is not a snappy as WM2003. It does in fact communicate with the ipaq 110, once I got the COM port situation straightened out. It's a great product and light enough to hang from a lanyard around my neck. What I haven't found is a good, inexpensive navigation program. DeLorme's Street Atlas works fine, but doesn't really navigate very neatly.

mjc
