Thanks to their network of warranty numbers, serial numbers, trouble numbers ect. I have a desk full of just numbers! But Asus has jacked up the price to $400 and that's for the 4GB version, WTF!!!!! Add a 8GB CF/SD card for $100 and the whole bizz ends at close to 5 Benjamins.

Sure it's still cheaper than an 11 inch Sony laptop but you can't help yourself from felling a bit disappointed. $200 dollars is a no brainier but $400 is a big chunk of money.

www.directron.com has had stock available for pre-order two days ago (shipping today), and they're going like hotcakes.

I wasn't initially impressed with the prototype I saw a few weeks back, but with the Linux system they ship on the machine, I have to say I really like it. It is quite easy to use, response time is good, and the size really counts for a lot in portablity. It's no desktop replacement, but for browsing the web, chatting, email, even music and video playback (a recent review stated that it could push out 720p mpeg-4 no problem), it's a quite capable machine.
