BevyTech's Gadget Bottle: it holds water and gadgets

On today's episode of "why didn't I think of that," we present to you BevyTech's Gadget Bottle, which is as self-explanatory as they come. This very standard looking water bottle sports a semi-translucent motif, delightfully vivid orange cap and four bands that keep your gadget of choice strapped into the 4.625- x 2.125- x 1-inch pocket. The bottle itself can hold 22-ounces of your favorite liquid, and the firm's FAQ even states that the bands are designed to not mash buttons at random. You would be surprised. I have a friend that collects old clothes from department stores, tears them up, than resells them to auto body/mechanic shops and he is a millionaire. I wouldnt doubt if this company cashes in on this idea!

I'm thinking of making a similar item. It would be a baseball bat/ reading glasses holder. So when you are up to bat, you can put your reading glasses in the bat so they don't get lost.

Either the guy who made this doesn't have his head on straight, or he knows that it's a horrible idea that most people will laugh at but a some will actually buy....1% of a massive population that knows about it, resulting in this guy becoming a millionaire.

Wow its amazing of how pointless this is. Strap whatever gizmo to your arm.

The bottle is indented to make room for your device so you loose water capacity.

What happens when you have little or no water left? it isnt gonna stand up straight from the weight of the device depending on what it is of course.

I can't think of a better way to say "Please mug me!" than by strapping a several-hundred-dollar electronic device to a water bottle. It's like you're telling people that you have so much money, you don't even care that your iPhone just got ruined by condensation.

Forget my gadgets, I'd be more concerned about being shot! Can you imagine the welcome you'd get from the cops walking into an airport carrying a bottle filled with an unidentified liquid with a cell phone strapped on!

I would buy this. I recently got into mountain biking. The shorts I wear don't have pockets, and I need a place to put put my digital camera. the camera is in a plastic case, so I am not worried about it getting wet. If I strapped something to my arm, it would fall off. If you are mountain biking on a real mountain, you are not going to have a basket or any other container on your bike.

Erm I use a backpack whenever I take my dirtbike out... and my friends that mountian bike do to. You could also have one of those under the seat+connect to the seat post bags. This is pointless haha

Dare I sugest a Fanny pack? On a more serios note, there a variety of small bags avaialbe that fit under your set, or in the strapped to a couple tubes. Perfectly fine for Biking. And for hardcore Mountain Bikers that actually go into the mountains far enough to need to bring stuff along (tents, etc.), there are fairly rugged saddle bags.

That's why any serious bike jersey has three handy pockets at your lower back (where there's the least body movement). For longer rides a Camelbak (or equivalent) is the way to go, you can get them backpack- or fannypack-style to suit your taste.

Even if you didn't care about moisture, I can't imagine how awkward it would be to drink from a bottle with a camera strapped to it, nevermind the fact that bottles have a habit of flying out of their cages on rough trails, or being dropped even on smooth roads if you fumble getting it back into the cage...it would be a painful sight to see your waterbottle skidding along the road at 25 mph with a phone/ipod/camera along for the ride.
