IBM, in fact, is not even the largest shareholder.

So, it is not accurate to call IBM the parent. Parent companies can consolidate their financial statements with subsidiaries, and they need greater than 50% ownership for that.

http://www.pc.ibm.com/ww/lenovo/shares_info.html

Chris

Comments on Lenovo intros the ThinkStation S10 and D10 workstations

IBM is NOT Lenovo's parent company.

I.E

Comments on Lenovo intros the ThinkStation S10 and D10 workstations

How about new laptops??

Ike Skelton

Comments on Lenovo intros the ThinkStation S10 and D10 workstations

IBM isn't parent company to Lenovo. Even if plenty of their former PC division engineers and marketers are now at Lenovo and Lenovo's headquarters has moved to New York it doesn't mean IBM owns them.
