Note that you will have to patch your backup iso's for this to work. Again, in theory, as I have never used it, plus there is currently no NTSC version of Memento. The only version available is an early PAL-only beta. Moreover, they said the "final version" would be released later that week, but now it's the next week and no final version nor any news update on their web page. Has anyone actually been able to try the PAL beta?

SteveJ

Comments on

I'm certainly _interested_, but I'd like to see the NTSC version of the software working. USB cable back when I first got my PS2 (a year or two after launch), which lets you "bridge" your PS2 with a PC and transfer files that way. It works great 90% of the time. Sometimes, it can't see the PC on the other end, but usually rebooting the PS2 or unplugging/replugging the USB cable fixes it. I'm not sure, but you can probably get one for a hell of a lot cheaper than this thing (if all you want is to "dump" a save game).

I'm glad I did, BTW. I bought an off-brand "extender": you plug the Sony mem card into one end, and the other into the console, and you can switch between the real mem card and the "extended" memory. When the "extended" memory had a heart attack, I managed to salvage most of the save files using the USB cable, even though I couldn't read the saves from the actual games themselves. Dodged a bullet there; never going to buy an off-brand memory card again, that's for sure.

James

Comments on

Fantastic reason to get a ps2!
