If it's just stuff charging or otherwise not transferring data you have some leeway, but I do see your point.

My laptop at home only has 1 USB port (a mistake I will not make again). With a hub like this, I can hook my all 3 external hard drives, the DVD burner, printer, scanner, and card reader - as well as a keyboard and mouse. And I'd still have 4 ports open for flash drives and whatnot.

Ok, I get that you don't like the product, but that doesn't mean it is without use.
