Those who bitch and scream like stabbed pigs about the prices of goods should look at prices in Britain, before they complain about their local prices.

But also, Brazil has an industry promotion law that favors local development. That is, if you import a finished product you pay the full import duties cost, but if you produce it locally you as a corporation are exempt of a lot of taxes, and often don't pay import duties on the components used to assemble them.

That's why there's LCD, PC and other electronics assembly factories in Brazil. And that, gee, puts food on the table of a lot of Brazilians.

Of course, the rich white elites -the same that vote far right governments and applauded military governments in the past- would prefer to have cheap notebooks and for the n*ggers to work as cab drivers only... do me and yourself a favor and get a life, then realize that there's no divine right to have the same internal US prices around the world, and that each country is allowed to have its own fiscal policy.

Willy

Comments on Philips enters the notebook game in Brazil

You should not mention Britain in this. If you convert the prices in the UK to Dollars it sounds insane - but it's not in local currency terms.
