IIRC, the judgment includes money for past infringement, PLUS an injunction against current infringement. Today, technology changes by the minute and the monopoly affects a lot more people than it did a couple of hundred years ago.<br><br>The time is ripe for patent reform. Reducing the patent window down will result in less patent disclosure since you can just call it a trade secret and be done with the whole patent system. You can order movies from Amazon for 99 cents and have them downloaded to your tivo, without ever touching a PC. Unable to comment on the Brand "X" DVRs, but the Tivo user interface is extremely well thought out.  I watch 30 minutes shows, commercial free in 20 minutes.  My precious, personal time saved alone has made it well worth it.
