Combined with my old Shure E2's, it's a great setup. The lanyard holds the ipod upside down, but the headphone jack is on the bottom so it works perfectly. I can reach down and grab the iPod to look at it and operate the controls, then when I let go it swings back down. Perfect for use at the gym (where you want convenient access and have no pockets) and for use on an airplane, where it's a huge PITA to fish the iPod out of your pocket to change tracks, or find a place to set it in your lap, on your tray table, or whatever.

The dock connector is quite strong, and anyway, a nano weighs next to nothing, so there is little strain.
