The Power supply I used was a 60w circuit board with an external brick. I fabbed a couple of brackets from spare plastic cut from the NES case itself. As small as PSUs have gotten, you can probably use a fully internal unit with no problems, but the one I used gave me room to mount a couple of internal fans.

This has a pretty complete parts list as well as some pics of the internals. I built it back in '04, but surprisingly in the mini-ITX realm a lot of these are still available. The problem with the NES box as a case I found to be overheating, since plastic is a good insulator and it's hard to get airflow through it. Still a pretty cool little thing to have around though.
