iriver's D27 e-dictionary loose in Korea

We aren't exactly sure why a media-playing e-dictionary has us this jazzed up, but it probably has something to do with that absolutely delicious design. Whatever the case, it's available now in South Korea for ?278,000 ($301) -- got a cheap ticket to Seoul, anyone?

I was gonna say, this is exactly the sort of thing I'd like for email and browsing on the road. It's reminiscent of the old Psion handhelds. Anybody know the hardware specs, and if there's any hope of cramming an actual OS on there?

It kind of amuses me that these things are still called 'dictionaries' when they have integrated TV tuners and seem more interested in playing music and video files. But then we used to put a whole lot of effort into making calculators play games, so... Perhaps they should be 'travel companions' for all those people needing to travel and want something to use in their hotel rooms between figuring out how to order a cheeseburger. :)

I have a friend who's an exchange student from Korea, and he has one, albeit probably an older model. Pretty nice, minuscule keyboard, so-so battery.

I studied over there last year and picked up a D25, one of the previous versions. Don't even consider dropping $300 on this thing unless they have a different dictionary that works a lot better in there. Even though my dictionary was the slickest on the block I was constantly envious of my friends $99 Sharp dictionary that worked much better.
Oh and apparently having a really sleek sexy dictionary does not really get you any girls, I guess there still just interested in cars and money, now a Samsung Q1 thats a total chick magnet.

Yea, I checked his today, it's actually a D20. It seems to be quite a bit thicker and probably a smaller screen.

The D27 does look a lot better than the older D models, but it's absolutely HUGE compared to the D5. They basically do the same thing, except the D5 does it while looking better and being more pocketable. The saddest thing is that they both have the same resolution (480x272), but the D27 has a screen that's twice as big.
